is the recipient of a $1,00.00 Public Power Scholarship from Brodhead Water & Light. 

Brodhead's locally owned, not-for-profit utility offers the scholarship annually through its Community Relations Fund, which is also used to make contributions to charitable causes, hometown projects and economic development efforts.

Scholarship History

Each year Brodhead Water & Light along with our power supplier WPPI Energy, offer a scholarship to high school seniors who plan on attending a post-secondary educational institution.  A $1,000.00 or two (2) $500.00 scholarships are awarded to the student with the best essay on the theme:  The Benefits of Public Power to Our Community. 

Guidelines are available through the school district and here.
Award may be changed to one (1) scholarship of $1,000.00 or two (2) $500.00 awards.
