The Brodhead Police Department provides limited DMV vehicle registration services.

ATTENTION: Green County Residents – Vehicle registrations

 As of August 1, 2018, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation
will begin adding a $20.00 wheel tax to registrations and renewals
for Green County residents.  This will automatically be added into
your fees when registering a new vehicle or renewing a current registration.

Hours for registrations and renewals:

Monday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Friday  7:00 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.
Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.

Registration FAQs:

We are no longer able to accept checks for registrations by anyone other than the registered owner.

We cannot accept titles that have white-out on them, erasures, or marked out writing.

We cannot deal with any transactions that are out of the ordinary, such as deaths.

We are only allowed to issue plates to someone if there has been a change of ownership, not if the vehicle is already owned by you and you need different plates for some reason.

We are not able to give final fees over the phone.  The basic fees charges are $164.50 for a title, 5.5% sales tax, license plate fee (range from $100-$106, $10 loan filing fee, $20 wheel tax if you live in Green County, and a $19.50 counter fee for doing the transaction online.

All registered owners must be present to sign the paperwork.

Registered owners under the age of 18 must have a parent or a legal guardian present to sign the consent to purchase form, and the signature must be notarized.
